Teachers will be using many pre-assessments this month. Pre-assessments are used to identify what students already know so that teachers can plan accordingly. They are also used for teacher to learn more about their students. Expect to see or hear about: (1) Academic Pre-assessments in Math, Reading, Science, Writing, etc. (2) Learning Style Survey, (3) Multiple Intelligence Survey and (4) Interest Surveys.
International Dot Day is celebrated annually on September 15th. This celebration started with a book - THE DOT by Peter Reynolds and it is a day to celebrate creativity, courage and collaboration. At CHES we spend the day being creative and reflecting on how we can make our mark in the world. Take a minute to visit the DOT DAY website page for more information:
This TAG Best Practice is a focus for PGCPS this school year, so it will be one that is used all year. For this month, our students will be involved in many goal setting and getting to know you/myself activities. Time will be spent bonding with teachers and classmates as the school year begins.
