Visiting Colin Powell Academy

Map and Driving Directions:

Colin Powell Academy is located at 12200 Fort Washington Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744. When you get to the campus, please enter through the Fort Washington Rd entrance, and exit the campus the same way. As you exit from Fort Washington Rd, you must make a right turn. The Swan Creek Rd entrance is for buses and before/aftercare vehicles only. 

Please park at the front of the school (where the flagpole is). Do not park or wait by private residences at any time. Please respect our neighbors’ spaces and properties. Do not park by the bus loops. Do not park using the reserved parking spaces; please use the open parking spots. 

All visitors must enter through the Main Office, sign in, provide identification, and wear a visitor’s badge while on campus. Visitors cannot go past the front office unescorted.

Driving Directions:

If you’re driving from Washington, D.C., take I-295 South and merge onto I-495 South/I-95 South toward Richmond. Exit onto MD-210 South/Indian Head Highway and continue on this road. Turn left onto Fort Washington Road, and you’ll find the school on your left.

Coming from Alexandria, VA, take I-495 North/I-95 North toward Baltimore. Exit onto MD-210 South/Indian Head Highway and continue south. Turn left onto Fort Washington Road, and the school will be on your left.

From Annapolis, MD, head west on US-50 toward Washington, then merge onto I-495 South/I-95 South toward Richmond. Take the exit for MD-210 South/Indian Head Highway, then turn left onto Fort Washington Road. The school will be on your left.
