Dear PGCPS Colleagues,
As we approach the holiday season, I am honored to share an extraordinary gift created by the students of William Wirt Middle School.
Our scholars collaborated to produce a holiday video celebrating the many cultures, traditions, and identities represented in our school community. It is a beautiful reminder of the richness that diversity brings—not only to our classrooms, but to our collective humanity.
As a middle school principal, I am especially proud to serve as a leader during such a formative stage in our students’ lives. Middle school is where identities are shaped, voices are discovered, and confidence is built. Watching our students joyfully and respectfully honor what makes each of them unique reinforces why this work matters so deeply.
The things that make us different truly make us better.
Thank you for the work you do every day to uplift, inspire, and support our students across Prince George’s County Public Schools. On behalf of our Mighty Jaguars, we wish you a joyful, peaceful, and restorative holiday season.
With gratitude,
Principal Simley
