Dear Parent and Guardian Partners of Longfields Elementary,
As we move into the second half of the 2025 - 2026 school year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the tremendous growth, learning, and collaboration that have taken place at Longfields Elementary School. Thanks to the dedication of our students, families, and staff, we have had a strong and successful first half of the year.
We are grateful for your continued partnership and support. Together, we have fostered a positive school environment rooted in our district’s focus: “Align to Impact: Culture, Clarity, and High Expectations.” This focus continues to guide our work as we support students academically, socially, and emotionally.
As we continue through the year, we encourage families to:
Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality. We have made huge progress in our chronic absenteeism rates. We are down 11% from last school year.
Review academic progress regularly using Synergy, ParentVue. Also, monitor school data (comprehensive view) using this site: https://microstrategy.pgcps.org/pgcps-dashboard/school-performance?schoolId=06118
We are in testing season. SPEND time 2-3 days per week completing practice problems in preparation for our MCAP 26 (students in Grades 3-5). Use this site: https://support.mdassessments.com/practice-tests/
Reinforce school expectations and routines at home and don't accept anything less from your little ones.
Stay connected through school communications and events through Dojo, Remind and email.
We are excited about what the remainder of the school year holds and appreciate your continued trust and partnership. If you have any questions or need support, please do not hesitate to reach out to our administrative team.
Thank you for being an essential part of the Longfields Elementary family. Together, we will continue to ensure a successful and impactful school year for every student.
Warm regards,
Carmen L. Bell, Principal

Hello, my name is Stacey Watson. I have had the pleasure of working with AlphaBEST since 2013! I have worked in Early Childhood Education and School-Age Childcare for nearly 20 years! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. I believe that children's success in our programs requires a partnership between the families, school administration, and AlphaBEST. I look forward to providing your children with fun, exciting, and educational activities while giving you peace of mind that your children are being well cared for.
