Autism Field Trips

The current autism field trips are designed for Level 1 and Level 2.  Listed below is a brief description of each of the field trip options.  All autism field trips are currently scheduled during the 4th quarter and located within the planetarium. A brief description of each field trip is listed below.  Please contact the HBOSC Program Administrator to schedule a program.

"Sky Letters"  Kindergarten/First Grade (Level 2 Autism Designed)  Planetarium Program - Visiting students, teachers, assistants, and parent chaperones will enjoy identifying letters and making letter sounds while learning about Stars”, the “Sun”, “Moon”, “Astronauts”, “Rockets” and “Planets” in the “Planetarium.” Visiting guests will view short interactive visual science segments and will then engage in physical content related tasks at Five Exploration Stations
1:15 minute Planetarium Program / One Class Session 

 

"Space Explorers!" Second Grade (Level 2 Autism Designed)  Planetarium Program  - During this highly visual program visiting student guests will go on an adventure to explore space with NASA scientists to learn about the Earth’s place in an Amazing Universe exploring the Earth, Moon, Stars and Beyond! Then student guests will participate in six Hands-On rotating Space Exploration Stations.
