About Dr. Ava Tasker-Mitchell
Dr. Tasker-Mitchell brings more than two decades of experience across rural, suburban, and urban settings. Her recent leadership as Superintendent of Somerset County Public Schools strengthened her profoundly.
Under her guidance, Somerset achieved the state’s second-highest improvement in reading, elevated its Maryland Report Card performance, launched its first four-year strategic plan, expanded mental-health services, and saw historic financial investments and raises. Her steady hand and unshakable belief in children will serve this community well.
