PGCPS Launches $11,000 High School Voter Registration Competition

This March, Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) is partnering with the PGCPS Social Studies Office, PGRASG, and the League of Women Voters of Prince George's County to launch a district-wide voter registration drive for students aged 16 and older.

Win Big for Your School

The drive features a high-stakes competition for Student Government Association (SGA) Executive Boards. The top three schools with the highest registration percentages will win:

  • 🥇1st Place: $5,000 | 2nd Place: $3,000 | 3rd Place: $2,000
  • ⭐Bonus: $1,000 for the school with the best social media/flyer campaign. Students can earn $350+ as an Election Judge

Students can sign up to serve as Election Judges through the registration portal. Participants receive $50 for training and $300 for each day served at a polling place during elections.

How to Register

Students should use the official QR code found on school posters to access the Smartsheet portal. This is the only way to track participation for the competition. Next, students check their email for the link to register to vote.

  • 🪪Online: Use a Maryland ID/Driver's License/Learner's Permit and the last 4 digits of a SSN.
  • 📄Paper Option: Students without a Maryland ID can use a paper application (available in multiple languages), check the "No ID" box, and return it to a teacher or volunteer for delivery to the Board of Elections.
