Prince George’s County Public Schools has been informed of a recent cybersecurity incident involving Frontline Education, a third-party software provider used by our district and thousands of districts across the country. This incident originated entirely on Frontline Education's systems and did not affect or compromise our internal school district servers or network infrastructure.
On August 14, 2026, Frontline Education's security team identified a vulnerability in an external, third-party application used within their system. This flaw permitted unauthorized access to an environment containing data linked to their Frontline Central (employee/workforce management) and School Health Management (student nursing documentation) platforms.
Frontline has since patched the software vulnerability, engaged an independent cybersecurity firm to secure their network, and coordinated directly with federal law enforcement. Frontline Education has stated they are currently not aware of any misuse of the data resulting from this incident.
The exact information may vary by individual. However, Frontline confirmed that no PGCPS student data was included in the incident.
Starting in late October, Frontline Education will provide all impacted individuals a direct, personal notice via email or physical U.S. mail. It will include the specific information that was included in the incident and details on what resources are available to you.
Stay alert for communications from Frontline and/or TransUnion.
