

To launch our new Tree Planting Program and highlight the Maryland Schoolyard Forest Program, Northview Elementary third graders planted 20 trees, creating a living classroom for climate learning and environmental stewardship. This milestone advances our Climate Change Action Plan and aligns with Maryland’s 5 Million Trees Initiative.

With the Prince George’s County Board of Education’s approval of the proposed FY27 operating budget, the process now moves to the Prince George’s County Council, which will hold public hearings on April 28 and May 4 to gather community input on the PGCPS portion of the County budget.

All students entering 7th grade must have Tdap and Meningococcal vaccinations. PGCPS will offer free mobile vaccination clinics for current sixth-grade students. A parent/guardian must complete the consent form to participate.

Summer Programs offer free opportunities for acceleration, enrichment, intervention, credit recovery, and original credit. Programs are available in-person, virtually, or in a hybrid format.
