Woodridge Elementary School Performance Plan

In alignment with the goals and priorities of Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS), the School Performance Plan (SPP) allows for a transparent and collaborative school improvement process with a focus on student achievement.

The School Performance Plan was developed this school year as the continuation of the detailed work and planning completed in the previous school year. The SPP focuses schools on engaging in disciplined inquiry cycles through the use of Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA). Through the successful utilization of PDSA, schools are able to impact student achievement and teacher practice by taking a scientific approach to school improvement.

SMART Goals

A targeted

aspiration that serves as the focal point for collective improvement efforts

Specific; Measurable; Achievable; Realistic; Timebound

Math- Students will increase math proficiency by 5% points on MCAP Math for SY26.

RELA/ELA-Students will increase reading proficiency by 5% points on MCAP RELA for SY25/26.

Not Selected-

Problem of Practice

One problem the school has chosen to address that will assist them in moving toward the overarching Smart Goal

Because teachers do not use the Three Read Protocol with fidelity, students have difficulty reasoning in mathematics.

When we analyzed MCAP RELA 2025 Data, 3rd, 4th & 5th grade students performed the lowest in literary text and use of vocabulary..

Change Idea

A specific, actionable idea or technique that school teams will use to address the SMART Goal

We will use the three-read protocol with fidelity to improve reasoning skills.

Explicit Vocabulary Instruction (focus on context clues and inferencing);

We will use focus groups daily using context clues and inferencing specifically with literary texts.

Target

The AIM set to determine if the implementation of the change idea was successful

6 out of 9 teachers will use the Three Read Protocol weekly.

All teachers will complete the tracker during collaborative planning, demonstrating their anecdotal notes/sample models from engaging in explicit vocabulary instruction (focusing on context clues/inferencing)

IPI: 50% of fourth graders will show evidence of reasoning through the use of multiple strategies, representations, and explanations.

PI: 20% of students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will score at least proficient on the county RELA Benchmark I.

PI: 20% of fourth-grade students will be proficient or higher on PGCPS Benchmark 1.

IPI: 50% of students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will score at least 1 out of 2 items on the vocabulary context clues/inferencing quick assessment.
