Stephen Decatur Middle School Performance Plan

In alignment with the goals and priorities of Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS), the School Performance Plan (SPP) allows for a transparent and collaborative school improvement process with a focus on student achievement.

The School Performance Plan was developed this school year as the continuation of the detailed work and planning completed in the previous school year. The SPP focuses schools on engaging in disciplined inquiry cycles through the use of Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA). Through the successful utilization of PDSA, schools are able to impact student achievement and teacher practice by taking a scientific approach to school improvement.

Math teachers are not consistently planning and modeling the expectations for reasoning and problem-solving questions.	NA	Teachers' failure to record attendance data in a timely manner impacts the accuracy of student attendance percentages.

Implement a structured approach for teachers to explicitly model problem-solving skills.	Provide ongoing professional development and collaborative planning opportunities for teachers, along with access to a shared repository of targeted language development strategies, lesson exemplars, and instructional routines, so that teachers can consistently integrate these strategies into daily lessons to improve English learners' language proficiency.	We will implement a new procedure to ensure that attendance is correctly entered in a timely manner. Administrators will follow up with teachers not entering attendance according to expectations. Teachers not entering attendance appropriately will be determined by daily attendance reports by mod completed by the attendance secretary.

Students with Disabilities	This year we will hold an ELO program with a focus of student with disabilities that are close to moving to the next level. The SDMS team reviewed individual MCAP scores for the students with disabilities and have a target audience for the ELO program. Within the program with students will engage in the LUMOS program.	Students will increase their score by 5 points form Lumos pre test to post test during the ELO program.
