North Forestville Elementary School Performance Plan

In alignment with the goals and priorities of Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS), the School Performance Plan (SPP) allows for a transparent and collaborative school improvement process with a focus on student achievement.

The School Performance Plan was developed this school year as the continuation of the detailed work and planning completed in the previous school year. The SPP focuses schools on engaging in disciplined inquiry cycles through the use of Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA). Through the successful utilization of PDSA, schools are able to impact student achievement and teacher practice by taking a scientific approach to school improvement.

Multilingual Learners:Students with Disabilities

Lexia is an evidence-based reading intervention program that provides personalized, adaptive instruction to support the development of foundational reading skills. Rooted in the science of reading, Lexia is particularly effective for students with disabilities, as it offers a structured, systematic approach to phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The program's data-driven design allows educators to monitor progress in real time and adjust instruction to meet individual needs. For students with learning disabilities, Lexia's multisensory and scaffolded activities help bridge gaps in decoding and comprehension, fostering both confidence and skill mastery. Its alignment with evidence-based practices makes it a powerful tool in ensuring equitable access to literacy for all learners.

Lexia provides real-time, data-driven reports that track students' progress in key areas of reading development, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. These reports offer detailed insight into each student's performance, highlighting skill mastery, areas of need, and growth over time. This targeted data enables educators to deliver timely, personalized interventions and monitor the effectiveness of instruction. The intended impact of using Lexia is to accelerate reading growth for our students with disabilities (SWD), with a goal of reaching the 45% growth target on the 2026 Maryland Report Card. In 2025, our SWD earned 38.6%

of their possible points—an encouraging increase from 29.6% in 2024—but we remain 6.4% away from the state benchmark. By leveraging Lexia's evidence-based instruction

and robust reporting tools, we are strategically addressing gaps in literacy to meet and exceed this critical performance target.
