Aeron DeJager, our only swimmer to compete all four years, made school history! They are the County Champion in the 200-yard freestyle, setting a new school record with a blazing time of 2:33.60, the fastest in the county this year. 🥇

Ida Ellison delivered an incredible performance, finishing 3rd overall in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 7:40, cutting two seconds off her previous time. She also earned 3rd place overall in the 100-yard freestyle. 🥉🥉

The Relay team (Aeron, Yajaira, Ida, & London) capped off the meet with another medal, finishing 3rd overall in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 5:36.06. 🙌

Dear Wildcat Families and Students,
As we continue through Quarter 2, we would like to share several important updates and reminders to support student success and maintain a safe, focused, and respectful learning environment at Northwestern High School.
Please note that Quarter 2 will end on January 26. As we approach the end of the marking period, we encourage students to remain engaged in their coursework, complete all assignments, and seek support from teachers as needed. Every instructional day matters.
We have also maMCAPed MCAP state testing for students enrolled in semester-based English 10, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry courses. Student attendance and punctuality during testing windows are essential. We ask for your support in ensuring students arrive on time, well-rested, and prepared on testing days.
We would like to remind families that uniforms are expected daily. Students should wear navy blue pants or skirts with a white collared shiclbookbagsbagsbagsagsbags. Consistent adherence to uniform expectations supports a focused and equitable learning environment for all students.
School safety remains a shared responsibility. We encourage all students to make positive choices throughout the day and to speak up if they see something concerning. If you see something, say something, and do something by reporting concerns to a trusted adult immediately. For safety reasons, all students and staff must enter the building through the front entrance only, and at no time during the school day should doors be opened or propped open for anyone, this includes both students and staff.
Finally, we cannot overstate the importance of daily attendance. Being present, on time, and ready to learn every day plays a critical role in academic success and overall school engagement.

We’ve officially entered the second quarter of the school year, thank you for your continued partnership in ensuring our Wildcats stay focused, consistent, and engaged every day. Attendance matters! Each class period counts, and every absence impacts learning progress and overall success. Parent-teacher conference day is November 11th.
As a reminder, Northwestern High School is a closed campus. Once students arrive, they are expected to remain on campus throughout the school day and attend all scheduled classes. Students should not leave the building or school grounds without prior approval or proper check-out procedures. This policy helps us maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone.
Additionally, as daylight saving time ends and the days grow shorter, we encourage all students to be mindful of safety when traveling to and from school or activities.
