At the start of a new school year, students who received free or reduced-price meals during the previous year are given a grace period to carry over their Free and Reduced Meal status. The annual eligibility changes for Free and Reduced Meals (FARMS) programs are based on updated federal income guidelines, which are typically finalized in the fall.
The October 10, 2025, deadline marks the end of this grace period. Families must submit a new application by this date for their child(ren) to continue receiving free or reduced-price meal benefits for the current school year.
Families who have not completed a FARMS application for SY25-26 will have their status automatically switch to paid at 11:59 p.m. on October 9, 2025, if a new application is not submitted.
