New Procedures for Workers' Compensation Claims as of November 12, 2014

Starting Monday, November 12, all Transportation employees will report their workers' compensation claims by calling the new claims administrator, CorVel, at 1-800-774-2447. (For your convenience, employees will receive wallet cards with this information.)

Employees: The new process requires you to contact CorVel when an injury occurs to provide your personal information and accident and injury details. You will no longer be required to complete a PGCPS Workers' Compensation-Report of Injury form.

Managers and Supervisors: The Workers' Compensation Office will notify you via email when one of your employees has reported a claim. If your employee is incapacitated or transported by ambulance, then you must call in the injury to CorVel. Please ensure that your timekeeper submits weekly Verification of Lost Time forms to the Workers' Compensation Office.

Timekeepers: If you have an employee who is injured at work and misses time, report it in Oracle and fax a Verification of Lost Time form weekly to the Workers' Compensation Office at 301-952-6027.

If you have any questions, please contact the Workers' Compensation/Risk Management Office at 301-952-6075 or 301-780-2187.
