Who We Are

The Innovation and Performance Area supports Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) schools across PGCPS. Led by Associate Superintendent Dr. LeTrecia Gloster, the team partners closely with school leaders, educators, families, and community organizations to strengthen teaching, learning, and school systems.

Our work spans elementary, middle, and high schools and is grounded in collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and shared responsibility for student success.

Meet Dr. LeTrecia Gloster — leader of the district’s new Innovation and Performance Area — who is living her purpose by supporting the very schools she once attended and led. The Innovation Zone is designed to ensure our highest-need schools receive the strongest leaders and teachers, driving results where they matter most.

By focusing on these levers, the Innovation and Performance Area helps schools disrupt cycles of underperformance and build sustainable paths to improvement.


What We Do

The Innovation and Performance Area works with schools to:

  • Accelerate academic growth by expanding access to rigorous, engaging instruction and targeted supports.
  • Improve attendance and engagement through coordinated strategies that address chronic absenteeism and strengthen school climate.
  • Strengthen leadership and staffing by supporting principals, developing instructional leaders, and partnering on talent recruitment and retention.
  • Support CSI and ATSI exit by aligning school improvement efforts with Maryland's accountability system and clear performance benchmarks.

This work is guided by a performance-driven framework that emphasizes support and accountability, data-informed planning, and continuous improvement.

Central High School had one of the district's largest increases in percentage of possible points earned on the latest Maryland Report Card! 🌟

This improvement is attributed to supporting students through interventions, grade-level professional learning communities for educators, being clear on the mission and building rapport with students and families. We are #PGCPSProud of your continued growth and achievement.
