During a Virtual Education Day, educators are expected to take attendance just as they would during an in-person school day. Attendance must be recorded either period by period or as daily attendance, depending on the grade level. Educators will continue to use the Synergy Student Information System to document student attendance, and this requirement remains unchanged for virtual instruction. Consistent and accurate attendance tracking ensures accountability and supports monitoring student participation during inclement weather closures. Attendance must be recorded within 4 instructional days.
Educators may take attendance during synchronous instructional time using one of two approved methods. Attendance can be collected through traditional role call during the live session, or by using the Google Meet attendance feature, which is configured as “ON” for the district. This feature automatically logs student participants in the Meet and may be used to record attendance at the conclusion of the synchronous class. Regardless of the method used, all attendance must be entered into Synergy by the educator of record, in accordance with district expectations.
