Early Entrance to Kindergarten

A parent/guardian may make a request for early entrance into kindergarten if the child turns five (5) years of age between September 2 and October 15, of the school year for which they are requesting early entrance. 

Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) online applications for Early Entrance to Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year will be open from April 7, 2025 to June 1, 2025; no exceptions. *A Student ID is required to submit an Early Entrance to Kindergarten application. Student ID requests can be made through ParentVUE.*

Children being considered for Early Entrance into Kindergarten must demonstrate kindergarten readiness by showing mastery of Prekindergarten standards in Language & Literacy and Mathematics and striving efforts towards Kindergarten standards as measured by assessments administered by Prince George’s County Public School District.
