Youth Career Connections (YCC), a program powered by Employ Prince George’s, places dedicated Career Coaches in PGCPS middle and high schools to help students explore career interests, plan for the future, and build the skills needed for success after graduation.
YCC supports the goals of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future by ensuring every student has access to college and career guidance before they graduate.
YCC Coaches work directly with students to help them:
Explore who they are and what they want to do. Coaches guide students through career interest assessments, personality surveys, and conversations that help them better understand their strengths and passions.
Expose themselves to real-world experiences. From guest speakers and job fairs to internships and field trips, students get to learn about different careers, industries, and options after high school—including college, apprenticeships, trade programs, and more.
Equip themselves with practical tools for success. Coaches help students write résumés, prepare for interviews, complete college and scholarship applications, and build confidence in communicating professionally.
Whether your student is dreaming of college, a trade, or starting a business, YCC Coaches provide support, encouragement, and resources to help make it happen.
