    The Summer Extended Learning Program is designed to provide targeted academic support in mathematics and reading for Students with Disabilities (SWD). Ernest Everett Just Middle School

    The Ernest Everett Just Summer Bridge Academy is an academic program preparing students for the upcoming school year. It strengthens foundational Reading/English Language Arts (RELA) and Mathematics skills through targeted instruction, skill-building, and enrichment. Daily RELA focuses on comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and structured writing, using text analysis and prompt response to build literacy. Math involves hands-on, collaborative learning to reinforce concepts, problem-solving, and real-world applications, focusing on number sense, reasoning, and fluency.

Fairmont Heights High School Hornet Summer Bridge Academy

   The Summer Bridge Program is designed to support rising 9th grade students as they transition into high school. The target population includes incoming freshmen who may benefit from additional academic preparation and exposure to high school expectations. The curriculum focuses on intensive math and English skill development to strengthen foundational competencies necessary for success in high school coursework. Instruction is aligned to 9th grade standards and emphasizes key literacy and numeracy skills  including problem solving  reasoning  reading comprehension  and written communication. Students engage in targeted lessons, guided practice  and collaborative learning experiences that reinforce core academic concepts. Expected outcomes for participants include increased readiness in mathematics and English  improved academic confidence  and stronger preparation for the rigor of high school coursework. Student progress will be measured through pre- and post-assessments in math and English  allowing the program to evaluate growth in foundational skills and overall academic preparedness. High Point High School

High Point Summer Program offers a valuable opportunity for students to recover lost credits, reinforce learning, and enhance academic skills. 

Students will be able to stay on track for graduation and promotion, and receive an introduction to college and career options. The program features smaller class sizes and more individualized attention, making it especially beneficial for those who need extra support. There is also a two-week career enrichment component for select students to explore technical and/or trade training. Overall, HPSP is a valuable resource that can help students achieve academic success.

Stephen Decatur Middle School

   The SDMS Summer ELO Program is designed to strengthen students’ foundational academic skills and provide targeted, data-driven instruction aligned to the expectations of the State Assessment (MCAP). Through structured lessons, small-group intervention, and individualized skill development, the program supports students in closing learning gaps and deepening mastery of essential literacy and mathematics competencies. By the end of the program, students will be better equipped with the knowledge, strategies, and confidence necessary to demonstrate proficiency on the MCAP and to succeed with the MCAP. Students will receive the appropriate support(s) outlined in their IEPs.

Thurgood Marshall Middle School Ready for the Next Step Summer Academy 

The Summer School Program is designed specifically for rising seventh and eighth-grade Thurgood Marshall students who have scored in the basic to low proficient range on district assessments. This program offers an engaging, supportive, and structured learning environment aimed at helping students improve their academic skills in math and reading.

William  Beanes Elementary School
Our Summer ML Program is designed to support Multilingual Learners in grades 2-5 by strengthening reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in a fun, engaging environment.
