Shayla Adams-Stafford is a passionate career educator with over a decade of experience as both a teacher and an instructional coach. She currently runs a professional development and software company that focuses on culturally responsive teaching and learning through the lens of racial equity. Her company trains educators and school leaders in over 20 districts across the U.S. and are considered national leaders in this field. Through her software, Shayla hopes to bring about assessment equity by putting the power of adaptive testing in the hands of K-12 teachers. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Shayla served as a National Board Certified Teacher and coach for over 10 years and has been recognized by the White House for her achievements in Project Based Learning. Shayla is also the CEO and Founder of RemixEducation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has provided more than 200 students in Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, and Washington, D.C. with positive youth development programming. Shayla graduated from Wellesley College in Massachusetts and received a Master's degree in teaching from Duke University. Shayla was just recently elected to represent the residents of District 4, as a member of the Prince George's County Board of Education; Maryland's second largest school district, and one of the largest in the nation.
