Dear Students and Families:
The Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) Division of Information Technology has identified a calculation error affecting student Quarter 1 (Q1) GPAs on high school and middle school report cards posted in ParentVue and StudentVue last week.
This issue is limited to the Q1 GPA field only and does not impact individual course grades, quarter grades, nor any grades displayed on the report card. This issue also does not affect students' cumulative GPAs, which are calculated using final course grades recorded on the official transcript. Transcripts continue to accurately reflect student GPA and were not impacted by the calculation error in the Q1 field. Additionally, we want to assure families that this has no impact on transcripts for college reporting.
PGCPS is working with our student information system vendor to correct the GPA calculation, and Q1 GPAs may be updated in some cases.
Report cards will be regenerated to reflect updated and accurate Q1 GPAs, and hard copy report cards will be sent home on Tuesday, November 25, as planned.
We apologize for the inconvenience as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
