Kenmoor Middle School science teacher Modupe Olafunmiloye has been recognized with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), the nation's highest honor for STEM educators. She is one of just four teachers in Maryland and 110 nationwide to earn this prestigious award.
Olafunmiloye's journey is one of innovation and commitment. After founding STEMWonders Education and Enrichment, a program offering hands-on STEM opportunities, she returned to Kenmoor Middle School in October 2024 at the request of a former colleague. Her innovative teaching style and focus on inclusivity continue to make a lasting impact.
Principal Rebecca Turner praised Olafunmiloyen for her creativity and dedication. “We're thrilled to have her back in the Kenmoor family,” she added.
