Relationships are at the core of mental health – they shape how we feel, act, and thrive. That’s why PGCPS is committed to integrating Restorative Approaches to build community and address conflicts constructively.
While fully implementing Restorative Practices in schools can take 3–5 years, more than 20 schools in PGCPS are making great progress. This month, we’re highlighting the Non-Traditional Program (NTP) South team, where Restorative Approaches are becoming a core part of their school culture.
In our latest podcast, the NTP South team shares how they foster community, practice restorative justice, and build meaningful relationships. You’ll also hear two students describe the life-changing impact of restorative conversations and circles.
District-wide, more than 300 staff members have been trained in Restorative Approaches. Parent training and resources will soon be offered through the Office of Student Engagement and School Support.
